Welcome to Feed and Be Fed — a vibrant urban farm and sanctuary transforming a once-vacant lot into a thriving community garden in the heart of San Pedro, California.
We believe in feeding the whole person — nurturing not just hunger, but growth, connection, and renewal.
Fresh, organic produce grown with love. From farm boxes to our pay-what-you-can farm stand, we provide nutritious food access for all.
STEAM education for young learners, garden labs for students, and workshops that cultivate environmental awareness and lifelong learning.
A sanctuary where all are welcome. Find peace through therapeutic gardening, community connection, and the restorative power of nature.
In 2015, a dream took root on a neglected dirt lot at 429 West 6th Street. Today, that same space blooms as a thriving urban farm and community gathering place.
Feed and Be Fed was born from The Garden Church's vision to create a space where faith meets action. In 2017, we became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit, expanding our reach to serve everyone—regardless of background or belief.
"All religion is of life, and the life of religion is to do good."
Our name embodies our philosophy: in feeding others, we ourselves are fed. The line between giver and receiver dissolves as we grow, harvest, and share together.
Two unique spaces, one shared mission. Find us at The Garden downtown or The Farm at the LAUSD Science Center.
From toddlers to teens, we cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on learning.
Early STEAM education meets outdoor adventure! Little ones and their caregivers explore nature through eco-friendly activities, sensory play, and garden discoveries.
A science-based curriculum aligned with California State Standards. Taper Elementary students walk to The Farm for immersive environmental education.
Environmental studies students and Boys & Girls Club members develop observation skills through journaling, gardening, and meaningful community work.
The garden is open to all, regardless of age or ability. Our partnership with Easter Seals and CVS provides therapeutic gardening experiences for clients seeking healing through nature.
Join us for art walks, community meals, and celebrations in the garden.
San Pedro's famous monthly Art Walk comes alive in our garden. Enjoy live music, local art, delicious food, and the magical glow of Tivoli lighting under the stars.
